# The stronger choices start with simple care

*Evidence and Options — Stem Cell Clinic Tempe*

> Stem cell clinic Tempe guide to movement, medicine, PRP, regenerative choices and when surgery may deserve a serious talk.

This page tells you what research supports for sore joints. Medical guides built from many studies put movement first. They don’t treat every clinic procedure the same.

## Simple care has the strongest support

No single choice fits every joint. An exam and X-ray can narrow the cause. You’ll choose better when you know what hurts.

## Steady movement usually helps first

Regular movement keeps a joint from getting too stiff. Stronger nearby muscles help during walking and chores. Don’t keep doing a move that causes sharp soreness.

Shorten one walk or divide one chore. Don’t change your whole day at once. That’ll show whether the joint settles.

Poor sleep can make soreness harder to bear. Body weight may add strain while standing. Your doctor can help with either concern.

## Medicine and PRP don’t help everyone

Some joint creams can ease soreness. Pills may help for a short time. You’ll need advice that protects your stomach, heart, and kidneys.

For PRP, staff spin your blood and keep plasma rich in platelets. Platelets are tiny blood pieces that stop bleeding. Concentrated PRP keeps more of them.

Some people notice less soreness for months. Others don’t get useful relief. Ask what the studies found for your joint.

## Surgery may fit severe joint wear

The largest controlled trial compared several cell products with a steroid shot. The products didn’t ease symptoms more than the steroid. That finding can’t be ignored when you compare price and risk.

Severe wear can hurt even at rest. A surgery visit doesn’t force a choice. It’ll let you compare risk, time, and recovery.

Keep up safe movement while you decide. Note changes in walking, sleep, or dressing. They’ll help at your next visit.

The OARSI non-surgical management guideline evaluated 60 interventions with GRADE methodology and built its recommendations around core treatments - structured exercise, weight management and self-management education - for every patient with knee osteoarthritis, regardless of what else is added.

In a 480-patient, four-arm, multicenter randomized phase 2/3 trial, none of three orthobiologic cell injections - autologous bone marrow aspirate concentrate, autologous adipose stromal vascular fraction, or allogeneic umbilical cord tissue-derived mesenchymal stromal cells - was superior to any other, or to a corticosteroid injection control, on pain at 12 months.

A 2025 meta-analysis of 73 double-blind placebo-controlled injection trials in 5,895 knee osteoarthritis patients found placebo responder rates above 50 percent at 1, 3 and 6 months, declining by 12 months - which is why any uncontrolled 'our patients improved' claim from a clinic is uninterpretable.
